The way it should have been....
So I know I should be working on those two previous posts dresses but I am hosting a wine and whist event in a few weeks and wanted to have something quick to wear...I thought it would be an easier feat to just alter, or improve, one of my already made dresses. I have been working on my picnic gown from November's DFWCG Georgian picnic. This is how I had envisioned...loving this dress and can't wait for it to be finished. I'm going back over any visible seams and hand sewing :) I have to finish the sash and lace around the collar along with the cuffs (and of course hemming the underskirt)

How cute! I'm looking forward to seeing it, as well as the Wine and Whist evening itself! My outfit sadly won't be so fancy as it is an undress jacket, but it's a start at least! Hopefully I'll be able to whip out some frillier/fancier outfits that would be more to my character ;) Not to mention poor Christopher's outfit. Happy Sewing!
Charming, what is the fabric of the underskirt? It looks like an iridescent taffeta.
OMG what a beautiful gown!
Fall in love:)
Squeee!!!! It's so beautiful! I love your color scheme particularly, and the red really sets it off. Very well done!
Gorgeous! A tour de force!
Thank you ladies!
@Cynthia...so excited about the event and looking forward to seeing your new jacket :)
@Comtesse I got the underskirt fabric at joann's on sale and I'm pretty sure its silk or a silk blend...in person its actually not that iridescent...has more of a raw weave if that make sense....its the same texture/look as the red sash.
@Lauren...love the red too...I wanted the red back in November but never found anything I really liked and then threw the other together at the last minute.
